PJ Bowers appointed the Australian Distributor and Converter of Zotefoams Azote - The World's Finest Foam

What is Zotefoams?

What is Electrolysis and galvanic corrosion?

Galvanic Corrosion is the corrosion that occurs when two dissimilar metals are used together in a structure and exposed to an electrolyte (salt water, chemical, petrol) and the less noble of the 2 metals will corrode. For example; aluminum sheet with steel fasteners on a boat. Some pairings of metals are more at risk of galvanic corrosion. Check a galvanic series or chart.
Electrolysis is the acceleration of the galvanic corrosion when electricity is introduced to the metals in question. Connected by an external electrical source, the less noble metal experiences accelerated galvanic corrosion.
while both processes involve metals and electrolytes, their dependence on an external voltage source distinguishes them.
Zotefoams is known globally for producing the world’s finest foams and used by some of the world’s largest companies across aerospace and aviation, sports, product and personal protection, construction, transportation, medical and industrial sectors.
Zotefoams, based in Croydon, UK, manufacture the highest quality foams through their patented nitrogen expansion manufacturing process, producing an exclusive combination of beneficial characteristics including uniform cell structure, purity, low toxicity and durability. Combined, these benefits create foam materials with consistent density, weight and cell size and sit at the core of the high performance of Plastazote® foams and Evazote® foams.

What is Azote®?

Zotefoams group brand name for closed cell, crosslinked polyolefin foams is AZOTE®. All AZOTE® high quality foams use the same unique autoclave process but with differing base polymers.
Within the AZOTE® world-leading polyolefin foams range sits Plastazote®, Evazote®, Supazote® and Ecozote® range. These AZOTE® foams are summarised by:
Plastazote® - Closed cell, crosslinked LDPE, HDPE and blends.
Evazote® - Closed cell, crosslinked EVA copolymers.
Supazote® - Closed cell, crosslinked EMA copolymer.
Ecozote® - Closed cell, crosslinked PE foams with 30% post-consumer recycled content.

Why PJ Bowers Values Zotefoams for Australia and New Zealand?

PJ Bowers believes product innovation in Australia needs as much support it can get which includes increasing allied activities across the supply chain. Improvements such as access to premium materials and products is vital for proactive organisations to remain focused on their core activities rather than be distracted procuring the materials and products needed to meet their specification and quality requirements efficiently.
As the Zotefoams Azote distributor and primary converter for Australia and New Zealand, PJ Bowers is making available the world’s best foams needed to successfully develop and scale product innovations in the healthcare, medical, electronics, Defence and aerospace sectors.

Why Zotefoams and PJ Bowers?

Zotefoams and PJ Bower’s share some very specific values including innovation, quality, integrity and reliability.
PJ Bowers end-to-end design and manufacturing capabilities add value to the Zotefoams global network by providing clients a one-stop-shop for sourcing high quality, fit-for-purpose products.

What are the benefits of Azote?

Compared with polyethylene foams made using other technologies, the benefits of Azote foams are a direct outcome of the high-pressure gas technology process used during production. These benefits include:

Consistent Density

Consistent density means reliable performance with no irregular points of weakness, softness or hardness in the material. Every block or sheet of Zotefoam; through its length, width and depth, is consistent with a uniform cell size providing the high-performance results expected when specifying Plastazote and Evazote foams.

Some more qualities unique to Zotefoams Azote foams include:
Stronger and more resistant to tear or tensile failure yet lighter than other foams of the same specification.
Handles heavy, high-pressure compression yet provides an even seal or surface with little force.
Lighter but with the crisp, robust machined edges and pockets of a high-density material.

Shape Retention

When the Azote foams are converted into products such as custom inserts, profiles or shaped into ergonomic accessories the form can be produced with finer tolerance which can be retained for longer after repeated usage.

Strongest Under Stress

The Azote range, thanks to its uniform cell structure, has more resilience for its weight. For example, Plastazote has better recovery after compression than other comparable foams. Plastazote is up to 70% lighter than other foams which is a significant benefit in the aerospace and aviation sector.

Exceptional Purity

Zotefoam testing shows next to zero chemical residue detected in Plastazote foam sheets compared to detections of up to 10% chemical residue on comparable foams. This is beneficial for medical and healthcare applications were significantly lower odour and lower toxicity is required.

Plastazote®

The Nitrogen expanding manufacturing process removes any need for chemical agents producing unrivalled consistency, cell size and density making Azote Plastazote the world’s lightest crosslinked foam while retaining performance and strength greater than other heavier foams.
Plastazote is the material of choice for medical and healthcare solutions that require high-quality ergonomic thermoforming that is comfortable to the skin.
Special grades of Plastzote with increased flame-retarding properties, and/or conductive or static-dissipative characteristics are also available.
To view available sizes, densities and colours see the product list here.

Evazote®

Evazote is a heavier density crosslinked, closed cell foam with more elasticity and tensile strength to handle higher loads compared to Plastazote. Evazote suits applications such as sports protection, footware, helmet liners, marine and water sport accessories.
To view available sizes, densities and colours see the product list here.
PJ Bowers is excited and proud to be appointed Zotefoams distributor and converter for Australia and New Zealand and will continue to work hard to deliver the high-quality Azote Plastazote and Evazote range expected across the world by Zotefoams customers.
